Filed-Down Sights – Press 53

Filed-Down Sights – Press 53 has just republished this award-nominated short story in the latest issue of Prime Number Magazine. That’s right, my lovely readers, Prime Number Magazine has once again featured my short story Filed-Down Sights. This comes, of course, on top of a nomination for the prestigious Pushcart Prize.

The Pushcart Prize Nomination

Each year, Pushcart Press announces the prestigious Pushcart Prizes. The Pushcart Prize is unique, because nominations are submitted by small presses. Entries come from editors of Journals, LitMags, ‘Zines, and Reviews scattered across the USA. As a result, the entries represent a diverse slice of American literature. The Pushcart Prize seeks to honor the best “poetry, short fiction, essays or literary whatnot” published by indie presses over the previous year. I love it that they honor literary Whatnot! Editors may submit up to six works chosen from the calendar year. Each year, winners of the Pushcart Prize are published in an annual compilation of the award-winning entries.

And so, here are the nominees, including yours truly:

I keep it tucked away in a vest pocket. I hope that one of my short stories may see the glorious light of day in an issue of the Pushcart Press.
