Let’s welcome another edition of Red-Blue… Micro Fiction just published by The Big Window Review. Red-Blue tells of a man in space, a deadly threat, a terrible choice, getting it done in 100 words or less.
What, I hear you asking, is micro fiction? Also known as drabbles, these are miniature stories, a complete tale in less than 100 words, 50 words, or even a single sentence. Yes, a story in but one sentence. Witness Hemingway’s famous example: “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”
Red-Blue first appeared as an online feature on The Big Window Review website. Now, it is part of the current issue, BWR 40, which is a free PDF download. Grab your free copy today!

Make some noise, people! The fascists are on the march and no mistake. Every day brings a new drumroll of news so bizarre, I doubt I could make it up. Sonsofbitches are going to be the death of speculative fiction, not to mention democracy.
We need stories now more than ever. So, how will you know when a new story breaks? Glad you asked, Friends. Read On! Drum roll and… Meanwhile, don’t miss any upcoming stories. You can stay tuned for all the latest by following the MEF blog:
And finally, with your indulgence, allow me a blatant book plug. Yes, I know, pesky artists wanting to get paid for their work. Will they never learn? Well, probably not. Even writers need to eat. So please, buy a damn book. Thanks!
Power Tools
There are moments in life when having the right tool makes all the difference.
An elderly woman sets out alone on a journey into a new life. Two soldiers in a bunker share candy and memories. A widower takes on the Supreme Court with a robot. Grief is sung over the cobbled streets of Valletta. Two old heroes question their purpose. These stories tell tales of love lost and found, of the fight for justice, and the glimmering flame of hope that keeps us afloat. Unforgettable characters push back against the crushing weight of the world and shoulder the burdens they carry within. Love, laugh, dance, weep; these are the stories of Power Tools.
